In 1907, Theodore Roosevelt declared the importance of the playground and the budding movement went national. Even presidential candidates like William Taft declared their support for playgrounds (on buttons even). Here is an early piece from Kentucky which reads “Louisville Playgrounds 1913/Athletic Contest/Second Class.” Just slight fading of the red background. One seen.
